Know all men by these presents that we Joseph Venable and Major Merret are 
held and freely bound unto John Tylor esq. Governor or chief magistrate of 
the Commonwealth of Virginia in the just and full sum of one hundred and 
fifty dollars to which payment well and (surely?) to be made to our said 
Govenor and his Successors for the use of the Commonwealth . We bind 
ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly 
by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 19th day of May 1809. 
The creation? of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound 
Joseph Venable hath this day 
obtained a license for his marriage with Matilda Merrit. 
Now if there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage then this 
obligation to be void else to remain 
in full force and virtue

1811 in Wythe County, Virginia, and died April 27, 1886 in Polk County, Missouri.

I Lewis Venable of the county of Polk and State of Missouri being in feeble
health and well advanced in years but of sound mind and disposing memory
being _____ of disposing of my property do make and publish this as my
last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me heretofore
made.

1st: I bequeath my soul to god who gave it and my body to the earth to be
interred in a decent christian like manner.

2nd: I desire that my funeral expenses and my debts be first paid out of my 
estate and the remainder I desire to be distributed and disposed of as
hereinafter mentioned as follows:

Third: I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy Farris wife of Lewis Farris
all my real Estate situate in Polk County, Mo., described as follows [towit?].
North East 1/4 of North East 1/4 section twenty [20] & South East 1/4 of South
East 1/4 Section Seventeen [17] & ten acres more or less in South West 1/4 of
South West 1/4 Section Sixteen [16] described as follows: Beginning at the South
West corner of the last mentioned tract running east with the line to the creek.
The north meandering with the creek to the north west corner of said last
mentioned tract all in Township thirty three [33] Range twenty two [22] containing
in all 90 acres more or less.  They the said Nancy & Lewis Farris haven taken
care of and provided for myself & my beloved wife Susanah Venable in our old age
for a number of years past and on the further condition that they care for & provide
for us during the remainder of our lives.

Fourth: I give and bequeath to my daughter Lucinda Jane Eggers the sum of five
dollars.

Fifth: I give and bequeath to John, James and Cornelius Doran, children of Mary
Doran, decd(my daughter) the sum of five dollars each and also request that a 
certain note which I hold on Wm. Lee Doran their father for about $100 be
given up and canceled by my executor having also hereinfore given him money
with which to by _er home in addition to this.

Sixth: I give and bequeath to James Hopkins & Benjamin Hopkins children of
Matilda Hopkins my daughter who is dd the sum of twelve dollars & fifty cents
each to be paid by my executor having also helped them for the last ten years.

Seventh: I give and bequeath to my daughter Rachael Howser the sum of five
dollars to be paid by my executor having hereinfore aided and assisted her &
her husband in buying a home.

Eighth: I give and bequeathto Wm. . Burchett & James Burchett two of my 
grandchildren the sum of twenty five dollars each to be paid them by my
executor.

Ninth: I give and bequeath to Mathes Venable my son the full amount which
Bryant & John Tipton owe me on a judgement which I paid off for them as
security.  The exact amount of which I am nable to state but supposed to be 
about $60.00 be the same more or less & I hereby give him full authority to
collect the same for his sole use and benefit.

Tenth: Lewis Farris & myself being equal owners of all cattle, horses & mules
now on the farm & on hand I desire all be appraised and valued at its cash
value as in other cases of administration and that the said Lewis Farris select
there from such as he may choose until he have selected a number equal to
one half the cash value of the whole, then the remaining other half due me I
desire it to be sold by my executor at public sale on such terms as he shall
deem best.  Together with one 2 horse wagon, 1 rifle gun & all my books
(except Bibles & Hymn books which I bequeath to my beloved wife] and
that the process of said sale after paying my debts if any remaining unpaid
ad the bequest hereinfore mentioned remain my unpaid & the legal cost of
administration sale_ I desire to be equally devided between the said Nancy
Farris, Rebecca E. Worley, Patrick Venable & Mathias Venable and that 
the sum be paid by my executor.

Eleventh: The hogs now on the farm belonging to me I desire to remain for the
use of said Lewis Farris & family & my widow.  The sheep on hand I claim no
interest in they being the poperty of said Nancy Farris.  I further desire that all
growing crops & grain now on hand be used and applied as far as may be 
needed to keep the stock until disposed of and the remainder to be retained
& used by said Lewis Farris for himself & his family & my widow who I desire
shall remain there with said Lewis Farris.

Twelfth: I will & bequeath to my wife Susanah Venable all our household &
kitchen furniture as her absolute property.

Thirteenth: The farming implements & other personal property now on the farm
& not hereinfore mentioned I have no interest such having been bought &
purchased by said Lewis Farris & is his separate property.  I hereby appoint
Lewis Farris my Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

In testimony where of I have here to set my hand this the 3rd day of September
AD 1883.

Hillcrest High School graduate, died Saturday morning at 4:17 a.m. March 13, 2004, of 
complications due to cancer. Ed was born January 1, 1945. He was preceded in death by 
his father, Floyd; step sister, Sheri; and baby brother. He is survived by his girlfriend, 
Jeneane Hindsley; his step mother, Hazel; sister, Cindy Hill and husband, Frank; sons, 
Edward Allen, Michael Wayne, and David Lee; grandmother, Pearl Dunkel; step children, 
Jimmy, Jamie and Belinda; as well as, many aunts, uncles, and other friends in Missouri, 
Texas, and elsewhere. Ed is survived by two close personal friends, John Robertson and 
Jack Barnhart with whom he enjoyed many years of fishing, boating, and close friendship. 
He leaves his dog Car Wash to watch his house on Padre Island.
